Jane Lapthorne

After spending 22 years in the IT industry Jane’s interest in Sports Massage was triggered after receiving the benefits of Sports massage pre and post operatively when she had to have a full hip replacement.

“I couldn’t believe how much pain relief the sports massage gave me before the operation and afterwards the massage helped both the operated leg and the other leg where the muscles were being overused and very tight. As a manager in IT for over 10 years I felt that Sports Massage was a great new direction as it helped me maintain contact with people and also help them which had been the 2 areas that I had most enjoyed before”

Jane trained with Sports Therapy UK to gain a VTCT certificate in Sports Massage at the University of Luton.

Sports & Remedial Massage helps relieve muscular pain and discomfort arising from not only injury but also tension caused by the stresses of the modern lifestyle. Massage techniques include slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the problem areas of the soft tissue.

Sports Massage is used for injury prevention, flexibility and endurance and enhanced performance in training and events by ensuring the muscles’ health and flexibility Remedial Massage applies corrective techniques for rehabilitation, pain relief, improved muscle function and mobility. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body.

Massage stimulates the muscular and nervous systems, encouraging blood circulation and introducing fresh oxygen and nutrients to repair the body’s tissues. It also stimulates the lymphatic system to eliminate waste products and toxins.
